Latest Kit Latest News

My newest kit is in my shop and 20% off Thursday and Friday. I was inspired by my favorite pieces of clothing...my jeans. I'm just a jeans kind of girl. I clean up pretty nicely, but if I could wear jeans, t-shirts and tennis shoes every day of my life, I would be a happy little camper! Here are the links to the different packs. And a special thank you to my friend Lisa for dreaming up the name. She is so creative and when I'm stuck, she always comes through for me!

Now I have to cut this short and head to bed because I'm finally going to meet my "floor guy" tomorrow to finish up my floors! Hopefully after this they'll be smooth and I can actually set a real move in date and can finish up the painting! It's been a long time coming and I'm getting so anxious because I want to LIVE THERE NOW!

Check back in a couple days. I'm going to post some wonderful layouts created with Into Indigo!

Also, I have a new kit coming out this week that I've been working on for awhile. I've been so swamped with my graphic design stuff that I've had to sneak a little time here and there toward my Quirky Twerp creations but it's finally finished and will be on sale Thursday and Friday, 20% off.
Here's a little sneak peek.

Quirky Twerp In The Spotlight

I feel so honored that my little scrapbook endeavor is in the spotlight right now over at The Hybrid Chick. I always love to see ANYTHING created with my products, but when I see something printed out and then created....something you can actually HOLD....my heart jumps a little bit more. Those hybrid chickies are very creative! Go take a little look over at their site. You might find a little inspiration for your own hybrid project.
These darling little envelopes were created by Nicole Seitler using my Gardenologie Paper Pack and Kelleigh Ratzlaff's Mini Envelopes Template.

Vintage Easter Freebie

Just in time for Easter, I'd like to give you this little gift which coordinates with my Vintage Easter products ... Vintage Easter Tags! And here's a little trivia, the ledger paper which is the base for these tags, is from an actual ledger book that my great grandfather used in his general store in Connecticut. I hope you enjoy and find a fun project on which to use these. If you do, link me up. I always love to see what people create with my products.

Also, included with this freebie is a little coupon to use in my shop. Happy Spring!!! :-)

Cute Easter Project

If you haven't checked out The Hybrid Chick.....DO IT! :-) Those girls make the cutest projects and give great tutorials so you can create them, as well. When I am finally in my house, whenever that may be, I'll have to try some of this stuff. It's way cute!

These eggs were created by Julie, a member of the Hybrid Chick creative team. She is so talented! She used my Vintage Easter Epoxy Elements and Vintage Easter Paper Pack. And it looks to be easy peasy...even for someone like me! At least Julie made it LOOK easy! :-)

She also made these cute little onesies using my Babycakes stuff.

A Little Update

On Thursday I was all excited to go see my floors because they would be dry by then. Well, they look beautiful but unfortunately they are rough as sandpaper!!! I called the guy and he said that humidity can play a role in that. He said he'd buff them down and do another coat. Then I emailed a guy I know who is in construction and he said it was probably because my house was cold and the heat was off. Great. He thinks I should turn my heat on and get the house warmed up for a couple of weeks before doing another coat! I don't like that idea at all! Waiting a couple weeks, that is.

I'm going to talk to the floor guy on Monday night. They're predicting snow here so I don't want him doing it if it's cold and wet out. Ay yi yi. That's about all I can say about that. If you have any other tips, let me know!

Here are photos....they are deceiving. And I took these with my phone so the quality is not great.

Also, I wanted to share with you another photo of that cute Easter Banner that Melissa made with my new Vintage Easter Rosettes . How precious is that!? Sigh.

I Love Me Some Vintage ANYTHING

I couldn't bear to approach Easter without some vintage postcard artwork. I love the vibrant printing process they used during the turn-of-the-century and the funny and odd little illustrations. So here are some nice little basic products that will work wonderfully on a layout but are also perfect for hybrid projects.

Vintage Easter Rosettes
I am in LOVE with these yummy ribbon rosettes. Sigh.

Vintage Easter Epoxy Pebbles
I want to hold these!

Vintage Easter Alphabet
These letters have a soft tone-on-tone pattern and bits of postcard art that coordinates with the rosettes. Double sigh!
Vintage Easter Paper Pack
Nice traditional colors with vintage floral engraving artwork.
And I have to show off some hybrid goodies. This card was created by Sylvia, who always does such a fantastic job creating cards. They are her specialty. She used a bit of paper from my other Easter kit Happy Little Easter.
And look at this darling banner created by Melissa, another creative team member. I told her I want to see another angle because this is just way too cute!
I hope you have been inspired. If you create something please post it in the Gallery at The Digichick. I'd love to see!

Spring Cleaning Sale

You know I love SPRING! And I'm really enjoying the Daylight Saving Time. Love, love, love! Wanna come skip through a field of clover with me?

The Digichick is having a Spring Cleaning Sale and everyone has been encouraged to do a little clearing out and slashing prices, so tomorrow take a little stroll through the Spring Cleaning Section of the site and see if you find something you just can't live without.

Also, I wanted to share a little sneak peek of my new products this week.
These will be released tomorrow as well. Wow! Big things going on at The Digichick.

House Update!

You know how I got tired of hoping I'd find the time to work on my floors and broke down and hired a guy to finish the polyurethane? Well, I finally got to see the finished floor today! YAY. It's still not dry. It's been a little rainy and humid here so he had to wait a longer amount of time between coats before applying the next coat. Since it was still wet I had to stand in the doorway of the kitchen and look, so I haven't seen anything but the dining room.

I need to just leave it alone for about a week before I walk on it. He said I couldn't put any rugs on it for a month because the fiber backing of the rugs can embed into the finish and get stuck or just leave a bad imprint. So, I had planned to move on the weekend of April 10th, but now I'll need to move that back a couple days since he took longer than intended. Now my projected move date is April 15th! Whew

Here are a couple photos of the floor. This is still wet so it's more glossy than it'll look when it's dry. (I hope he remembered that I requested a satin finish.)

And from my Quirky Twerp shop, it's time for $2.00 Tuesday. This week I'll have the following products on sale.

Junk Drawer Paper Pack
Junk Drawer Element Pack

Girl's Best Friend Paper Pack
Girl's Best Friend Element Pack
Both of these collections have REALLY cool coordinating alphabets and they're only $1.99 a set.

Happy Little Easter is Here

I have another in my series of "Little" holiday kits. Welcome Happy Little Easter! :-)

Happy Little Easter Scrapbook Pack

Happy Little Easter Paper Pack
Happy Little Easter Elements Pack

Happy Little Easter Alphabet Pack
Here is a darling Easter Basket created with Kelleigh Ratzlaff's new Easter Basket Template Set and using my Happy Little Easter Kit. She asked if anyone was going to be doing Easter stuff and I raised my cyber hand right away. She was so kind to use my products in her release.

And here are two creations from super talented Jacinda, a member of the creative team. She was on FIRE this week!
Today, the guy who is going to finish my floors should have applied the first coat of polyurethane as I type this! I'm so excited. I'm going to have to go see how it's looking and take some photos! Happy Weekend Eve!

A Little Sneak Peek

I wanted to share a sneak peek of the new kits I have debuting on Thursday. And as always they're 20% off Thursday and Friday. Get a jump on holiday creations with this cute and Springy collection.

As you know, I have been frustrated at the lack of time I've been able to dedicate to my house remodeling and have been stalled with finishing the floor. Yesterday, I decided to call a guy about taking care of that. He met me, looked around, took some measurements, complimented me on the checkerboard inset and then gave me a very reasonable quote. When I looked at the paper he handed me my first question was "When can you start?" He said THURSDAY!!! Wheeeee He'll do two coats on Thursday. One in the morning and one in the afternoon and then the third coat on Friday. He said not to walk on it for a week and then mentioned no rugs for a MONTH because they can embed themselves into the finish. I have one rug for the bedroom already, waiting in the basement all rolled up. I ordered another rug for the living room and I should have that in a couple of weeks. And I certainly don't want them to become one with the floor!

So now I can officially set my Move In Date for the weekend of April 10th. Once the floors have cured for a week I can get back over and do more painting and who knows...I might have all the painting done before the big day! :-)

Lot's of T's

We're heading into Two Dollar Tuesday and I have about six things in the shop that are marked down for 24 hours. More about that later. I also forgot to show you my February Grab Bag, which I have now unpacked. Put on your sunglasses because I am still in bright mode. This one's called Tiki Tango! I guess I was compensating for all our gray and dreary days.

Tiki Tango Paper Pack
Tiki Tango Element Pack
Tiki Tango Alphabet Pack

And for Two Dollar Tuesday I have the What a Kick Paper Pack, What a Kick Element Pack, Festivale Familie Paper Pack, Festivale Familie Element Pack, Age of Aquarius Paper Pack and Age of Aquarius Element Pack.

At my house over the weekend I did some more painting. I just had to do SOMETHING because it was driving me crazy that I can't get over there and work...too swamped with my real job! I painted the bedroom ceiling and the wall above the beadboard and the chair rail trim above the bead board. Now all that's left in the bedroom is to paint the baseboards and of course finish the FLOOR! I have a phone number for a professional. I believe I'll call for a quote this week. Seems like the smartest thing to do at this point!

I also painted the bathroom walls and ceiling. Then I ran out of paint! But, I just have the little bits in the corners and up where the wall and ceiling meet. Now I need to go back and see how it all looks with fresh eyes. I was getting a little bleary by the time I ran out of paint!

That's all I have for now. I've got to get back to work. I am seriously swamped!

Some Pop Frenzy Goodies

When Dana, one of the members of the DigiChick creative team, asked me to do a Pop Art inspired digital scrapbook kit I jumped at the chance. The first thing that popped into my head was the artwork from The Beatles Yellow Submarine and Andy Warhol's portrait of Marilyn Monroe. I had big plans and embarked down a path that I soon realized wasn't going to work very well for scrapbooking. So, I toned it down a bit....if you can believe that...and this is what I came up with.

Pop Frenzy Paper Pack

Pop Frenzy Element PackThen I worried that people wouldn't like it or if they DID buy it they wouldn't be able to do anything with it! I was wrong about that. It has been kind of popular and look at these cute creations.
Here's a layout from Jen...so cute! That photo is PERFECT for this kit.

And here's a cool card from Sylvia. She always makes the most beautiful cards.

And this is Dana's layout. She did a great job! What was I worried about? This layout will appear in the April edition of The Artisan Notebook.

After I finished designing this kit, I realized that I had the perfect subject for a layout of my own. Some of you know all about my Tub O' Stuff series (from my previous blog.) For those of you who don't, I am VERY nostalgic and have some plastic tubs with various things I have saved since my childhood. It's an interesting mix of things, to say the least, but each thing has special meaning. So a couple days ago, I got into one of my tubs and retrieved these extremely sentimental jeans' legs!

When I was in the sixth grade I had a pair of jeans that fit fine but then my legs grew too long and so to solve the problem of "high water" jeans, I added some hot pink fringe to the hem and decorated the side seams with some floral ribbon. And of course knee patches to complete the look. I think my Pop Frenzy products are perfect for showing off my very valuable jeans legs! :-)

Everyone Needs a Little Luck

This month, Holly (one of my all-time favorite Creative Team Members) mentioned that she could use some clover for a couple of March digital projects and it just so happened that I had some. So I posted a file for the creative team at The DigiChick, but then I started thinking "Hey, I bet someone out there in Digiland might be needing some clover as well!" At least I THINK you might...maybe not.

So, just in case, here is a link to a bit of clover to dress up your March digital creations!

Just What's on My Mind

I am bypassing $2.00 Tuesday this week because I'm running out of things to put there! They are supposed to be products that aren't too new and I don't have TONS of products yet, but just you wait!!! Hee hee

This week is going to be another where I am slammed with graphic design work. This is a good thing, I know. It just makes it harder for me to get over to my house and I'm getting frustrated. Maybe this weekend I will say "NO DESIGN WORK...ONLY HOUSE WORK!" I shall WILL it to happen.

I've been eating entirely too much candy lately. Why oh why do Valentine's Day and Easter have to be so close together? It's driving me crazy. I bought two bags of jelly beans today and that's only because I polished off my last bag of jelly beans a couple days ago.

About ten days ago I went to visit my CPA and found out that I qualified for the new home owner tax credit thingy. So, I was all super excited about that. Overjoyed! Then she called me and said she was required to send proof that I had paid my real estate taxes for five consecutive years at my last house. I have a file where I keep all that and for some reason two years were missing. I contacted the Collector's Office and they found one but they were ALSO missing some records! ARGH. WELLLLLLL....tonight I looked back through my old tax return paperwork, just in case I might have missed something. I had planned to call my former mortgage company to see if they might still have the paperwork. In the tax return were my various papers, including my mortgage interest statement and after reexamination I discovered that on that form it said "taxes paid" and the amount!!! I will be emailing that to my CPA and I hope, hope, hope that this is all I need to prove I qualify. EEK!!!

Those are the things that are currently on my mind. And also, I wish there were a pet day care because sometimes my pets drive me bananas. They can be so needy and I have totally spoiled them. My cat comes in and out of the house about 14 billion times a day. She'll pop up in the window and wave her paw!!! It's pretty cute. But, they are interrupting my work and that is so frustrating.

Last of all, one of the girls at The DigiChick said she was starting a Positivity Journal. I should do that. I have always been a pretty positive person but 2009 changed that for me in a big way. I need to get back on track! Right now my positivity is questionable. If I had a Positivity Journal, I would be tempted to write things like:
1. I am positive that I would like to win the lottery.
2. I am positive that candy and Diet Coke are health foods.
3. I am positive that I need to own a hot tub.
I could go on and on. Ha

I'd better get back to my work now! Check back for a sneak peek of new products.
